Public Opinion Laboratory (POL) Telephone Interviewer
Pay: $8.50
Hours per week: Minimum of 15 hours per week
Shifts: Evenings and weekends; occasionally weekday shifts are available
Job Requirements
- Clear speaking voice
- Persuasive abilities
- Ability to type 25 words per minute
- Spanish language skills are not required, but are a plus
Job Description
POL interviewers collect information for various clients, including state and federal agencies, not-for-profit organizations, corporate businesses, townships/villages, libraries, and universities. The position involves contacting and asking questions of respondents over the telephone. Questions are scripted and appear on the computer screen. You must read the questions word for word. Interviewers type the respondent’s answers to the questions into the computer. Interviewers are trained in the interviewing and computer skills necessary to perform their jobs.
